Really, you could make the book about any genre or topic that interests you, and then add the baseball as a secondary topic.
For example, if you like romance tales, say, then make up a romance about a girl in like with a forbidden, exotic baseball star from another country.
If you like vampire tales, make the plot about a vampire on a baseball team, and he has to negotiate being on the team, but only playing the night games, etc.
If you like biographies, write a biography about a baseball star.
