I loved Lance Armstrong’s book. I believe the name of it is “It’s Not About the Bike”. I read it a few years ago. But it was very inspiring and I loved it very much.
Look up “The Contender”, I read it as a teen. It is about boxing and a young man coming up throught the ranks. It’s a excellent book. Can’t remember who wrote it, sorry.
I liked:
“Shoeless Joe” by Kinsella (it’s the book “Field of Dreams” came from.
“Sandy Koufax, a Lefty’s Legacy” was terrific. It tells his tale interwoven with his perfect game against the Cubs in 1965. It’s fantastic!!
I also really liked, “Dove” by Robin Graham. It’s the autobiography of a 16 year ancient guy who tries to sail around the world alone. Action, tragedy, dread, a new girlfriend… it’s a very absorbing tale.
It’s Not About the Bike by Lance Armstrong is brilliant
Joe by Joe Namath is really excellent though a small long
“Teacher Man” by Frank McCourt
“The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls
“The Right Stuff” by Tom Wolfe
(bio rather than autobio)
Each of these I found to be brilliant reading…
I don’t know how ancient you are but if you’re a younger reader, Matt Christopher is a excellent bet as is Mike Lupica.
Hey kiddo
I know there are some fantastic ones out there I just can’t reckon of them right now
